BOM – Feb/Mar

This is a good way to use your scraps.
It is really important to make a SCANT
1/4" seam when making this block.

Cut four pieces of white and four pieces of various colors 4 1/2" x 2 1/2".
Cut four squares of white and four squares of various colors 2 1/2" x 2 1/2".
Place the white squares on the colored strips and the colored squares
on the white strips.
Draw a diagonal line starting at the top right of each of the 8 squares.
Sew slightly to the right of the drawn line so your piece will be the
right size after you press the seam to one side.

Cut off the excess 1/4" from the seam as shown. Press all seams to the dark.

Lay the pieces out and sew together as shown making four 4 1/2" sets.

Turn the pieces as shown to form a star. Sew together making sure to match
seams so you don't cut off the points of the star. Your square should
measure 8 1/2".

When you sew four squares together you will also have a white star.
Pretty neat, huh?
