April 4 meeting

The April 4th meeting will have Michelle Hellman speaking to us about Lone Star quilts. 

Start cleaning out your sewing rooms for our biennial auction in May.

March 7 Guild Meeting

The speaker is from Accomplish Quilting and will explain the best options for using thread and batting. The shop is located on 86th street, next to where Quilts Plus was located. They also provide training on longarm machines and machines can be rented to do your own longarm quilting.

Please complete and bring your UFO Challenge form.  It was sent last week as well as attached to the newsletter.


February 7 Guild Meeting will have 4 demos

February’s meeting will be held Thursday, February 7th. We will have 4 demos:  Applique by Mary Kenworthy, Sashiko by Jeanette Bagley, Microwave bowls by Cynthia Holman and Setting Triangles by Lois Lankford.

There is no Block of the Month for February.

January meeting

Our first meeting of 2019 will be held January 3 at Greenwood United Methodist Church.  We will have a Sew-In at our meeting.  Please feel free to bring a snack to share.  The meeting starts at 7:00 pm.  See you there!

December 6

Please bring the following to the December party which starts at 6:30 pm.  If your last name starts with A-M, please bring a side dish or salad to share.  If your name starts with N-Z, please bring a dessert.  However, if there is a dish you’ve been dying to share and you’ve been assigned a different category, just bring the dish you want to bring.

Bring a Christmas placemat.  You will be taking this back home.

Bring a new pair of Christmas socks for our Sock Exchange.  You may fill with little gift items with a $10 limit.

There will be other fun activities.  See you there!



Quilt Show Registration

Below is the link for the registration form for the 2018 quilt show.  There is a new category this year – mentored quilts.  These are quilts that you have helped someone else make.  Many of us have taught others how to make a quilt and this would be a great quilt to show the guild.

Remember, your dues must be paid in order to have your quilts hang at the show.  The mentored quilts will be registered under the name of the guild member with recognition going to the maker of the quilt.

July 5 Guild Meeting

We will be having our July party at 6:30 pm.  We will be having pizza.  Please bring a side dish or dessert.  Also bring a hand sewing project to work on.
