August 1 Meeting

Our meeting starts at 6:30 pm this month.  We are having our dinner with chicken as the main course.  Please bring a side dish or dessert.  See you there!

 

 

July meeting information

The next scheduled meeting of the Quilt Connection Guild is canceled as it falls on the 4th of July.  Please note that we will have our annual pitch-in at the August meeting.  Two UFO’s will be allowed.

June 6 Guild Meeting

Mary Beth Simms of Yellow Door Quilt Shop in Nashville, IN will speak about Aboriginal fabrics – their designs, symbols, history and use in quilts.  The QCG meeting is on June 6th at 7:00 pm at the Greenwood United Methodist Church, 525 N Madison Ave., Greenwood, IN.  This presentation by Mary Beth is free and open to the public.  Please join us!  For more information, please email SMiller6514@gmail.com.

May Quilt Guild Meeting

May’s meeting with be our biennial auction.  This is where we donate fabric and sewing items to sell at the auction with the proceeds going to the Guild.  Please remember to put aside items for the Auction as your clean your sewing rooms!

April 4 meeting

The April 4th meeting will have Michelle Hellman speaking to us about Lone Star quilts.

March 7 Guild Meeting

The speaker is from Accomplish Quilting and will explain the best options for using thread and batting. The shop is located on 86th street, next to where Quilts Plus was located. They also provide training on longarm machines and machines can be rented to do your own longarm quilting.

Please complete and bring your UFO Challenge form.  It was sent last week as well as attached to the newsletter.

 

February 7 Guild Meeting will have 4 demos

February’s meeting will be held Thursday, February 7th. We will have 4 demos:  Applique by Mary Kenworthy, Sashiko by Jeanette Bagley, Microwave bowls by Cynthia Holman and Setting Triangles by Lois Lankford.

There is no Block of the Month for February.

January meeting

Our first meeting of 2019 will be held January 3 at Greenwood United Methodist Church.  We will have a Sew-In at our meeting.  Please feel free to bring a snack to share.  The meeting starts at 7:00 pm.  See you there!
