The Block of the Month for January/February is a snowflake block.

You will make this block in the month of January to bring to the February meeting.

If you were not at the January meeting, Linda Rowda said to make these snowflakes ridiculous.  Her samples were not in the traditional blue/white combinations.

Enjoy making these blocks.  We have a few inches of inspiration just outside our doors!

You should make this block in November to bring to the December meeting

Cut four strips of Christmas fabric, two, light, two dark measuring 2 1/2″ x 17 1/2″.

Sew together alternating light and dark fabrics.  Divide into two 8 1/2″ squares.  Cut each square twice diagonally as shown in photo.

Sew pieces together as shown in next photo.  you will have four squares.

 SQUARE UP TO 5 1/2″.

Sew squares together as shown in last photo.  Finished square should measure 10 1/2″.  DON’T FORGET TO USE A SCANT 1/4″ SEAM.
